It might end up being the best Madden... with all new CBA Negotiations Mode!

@crazyclown Spot on my friend, every word of it.

But it's not that they're changing, it's what they're changing. I'm all for innovation and pushing a game further. However, abandoning your roots in doing so is not cool with me... If you want to make a completely new game, then do it. Don't use the Socom name as a springboard for going casual. I think the cover system would actually work well with Socom... but taking out lobbies is ridiculous. The lobby system was actually a key aspect to the Socom experience.

Thing is, they're more concentrated on the "new" fans (the COD ones) and giving their original fanbase (to whom they own their success) the middle finger. Classic mode is a sham... there should be an "arcade mode" instead, and the let the game be what it is and not pander to the mainstream run-n-gun crowd.

They're essentially taking away everything that made me fall in love with Socom I and II... that's why we're all pissed. And I think justifiably so. It's like taking Gran Turismo and adding cops, turbo boost, and explosions... it's cool, but that's not the type of game it is and that fans fell in love with.

Exactly... what they did to Socom is like if PD took Gran Turismo and added NOS, street racing, cop chases, and hookers... It would ruin it!

Nope, it's not a real Socom... it's a basically COD in third person.

I've come to accept that no Socom, much less any shooter, will be able to recapture that Socom II feel. However, I had hope that at least Socom IV would be a solid, well made, Socom game. That hope is gone.... it's going to be absolute garbage. How (and why) would they take every aspect that made Socom unique and fun and take them away and make the game just another BS run-n-gun fragfest? "Classic Mode" is a slap in the face... the whole game should be "Classic Mode&quo...

The things Killzone 3 and UC3 are doing on a technical level are simply amazing. Crytek is one of my favorite devs but I don't think they could compete with GG or ND if either went PC only. Could you imagine what types of graphics we would be seeing if they had access to the fastest gpus, cpus, rams, etc... available on the market right now?

It amazes me every time I read comments for GT5 (and to a larger extent, current gen games in general) at how spoiled gamers are nowadays. The amount of content in GT5 is staggering. However, people seem to over-exaggerate the few things GT5 doesn't have. So what if the Veyron or whatever other one car is "standard". It still looks damn good and handles just like the real deal. Since when did gamers start acting so childish? Maybe they've always been and I"m just notici...

For those complaining about the damage, keep this in mind: There is a difference between a racing game designed from the ground up around the premise of damage VS a game that is not designed from the ground up with a damage engine. Yes, many racing games have better damage... However, that's their main focus. I love what they have done with the damage in GT5, it complements the type of game it is. And for damage not being the main cosmetic focus of the game, I think they have done an exce...

A name is just a name. Without substance, a name is meaningless. Without context, a name is only a name. In MOH the Taliban were just a name--there was no political agenda being pushed. The Taliban in the game were just the "other side" to play as in the multiplayer. What has changed since they removed the name "Taliban"? Nothing. They're still the exact same generic enemy terrorist types that all modern conflict oriented video games portray. Who do you think were the ...

First, calm the fuck down. The problems with NCAA 10 are so vast it's ridiculous... However, I will enlighten you and list just some (and the list is STILL long):

First, stats literally mean nothing. A star WR will drop wide open deep balls while, conversely, a no name low-rated DB will do some amazing interception. This happens on all difficulties, it happens often, and it makes no sense. Also, along the same lines of stats being meaningless (and part of the game being b...

I'm not too happy with the new Madden, but NCAA 11 is one of the worst games I've ever played. It is fundamentally and technically a broken video game. It seems to have regressed tenfold from last year and even, in my view, worst than Madden 10 (which I truly hated). Madden 11 does a lot more things right than NCAA 11 or Madden 10... that being said, it still is pretty broken, but to a lesser degree.

We won't see any fixes in the basic issues that have plagued Ma...

It's all a matter of context and intention. People often try to spin things politically, socially, militarily, etc... when there really isn't anything there. Instead of simply looking at "it's the US vs the Taliban" and make judgments and assumptions based on that alone--try looking at the context and intention from a game standpoint. Are the developers using the US and Taliban in a propagandist manner, or are they simply using them as generic archetypes for the sake of ...

It wasn't that bad, it just wasn't Socom II good. The problem wasn't the vehicles themselves, it was the way they were implemented and executed in combination with poor level design. I'm sure Zipper has learned their lesson since then...

The reason Socom III wasn't as fun was, like you said, the maps were too big but also the level design was poor. However, Zipper's much more experienced with large level designs now. The firefights in Socom III were just as fun and tactical as II, it just took too long to engage in them. 32 players on maps as big as Socom III (which by today's standards are not that big) should work well. However, I really hope they have maps specifically designed for 8v8 skirmishes, as I am a Soc...
